Everything is changing very fast at 12 weeks pregnant. Without a doubt, you are now reaching the end of the 1st trimester – the hardest stage during pregnancy. That means your hormones seem tone things down a bit. Hopefully, you feel fewer pregnancy symptoms this week. Hence, feel free to breathe a sigh of relief as you have found the last couple months hard going. From now until you give birth, it is possible to get the feeling that you may not just expand your lungs as much as you would like to. Of course, that’s because there is someone else who takes up the space in your abdomen.
At that time, don’t be hesitate to share your pregnancy news with family members and friends. They will be excited to hear that!
12 Weeks Pregnant – Changes in your body
It is easy to notice the darker skinner around your nipples as well as darker patches of pigmentation on face. Furthermore, there might be also the beginnings of a dark vertical line that runs from your navel even to the top of your pubic area. Why does this happen? The reason is to come from hormonal influence. Don’t worry! It will fade with time after your baby comes to the world.
There could also be the increase in your overall blood volume. A few pesky pimples that have plagued you for the last few weeks might settle which make for a clearer complexion.
From this week onwards, there is no need to visit the bathroom so frequently. That is because your uterus is lifting up and then out of your pelvis. That gives your bladder much room to fill. Although you can still fit into your regular clothes at 12 weeks pregnant development, these are probably a little snugger than they were a few weeks ago.
In general, you can gain weight only about 2 pounds to this point. What causes your outfits (i.e. jeans) to fit differently these days is actually the other ways your body prepares to carry your angel. It is likely that a doctor can feel your uterus in the lower abdomen.
From 12 weeks pregnant, you can feel almost euphoric. The reason may come from the end of your pregnancy symptoms. Your energy starts returning and you are ready to take care of your little one. According to many moms-to-be, they have a strong desire to jump out of their skin. Try to eat fresh fruits and vegetables to improve your skin. This is also a cool way to provide essential nutrient to your baby.
This week is when you find yourself more relaxed and at ease. Moreover, the risk of miscarrying is strongly reduced. Many couples choose this time to let others know they are expecting an angel.
It is also possible to find yourself a bit weepy and more sensitive than normal. Moving films, other poor expectant mothers, cute babies, and even soft fluffy animals may be enough to begin a fresh flood of tears. Make sure to turn off the TV if you find such nappy advertisements too much to bear.

12 Weeks Pregnant – Your baby development
How is my baby at 12 weeks pregnant? At that time, all of your kid’s body parts are now present although there is still some maturing to do. It is fun to know that his/her intestines move into place in his/her abdomen. In addition, your fetus will then enter the maintenance phase. In the next 28 weeks, your little one’s systems and organs will develop so that he/she is ready for life on the outside. His/her digestive system starts to practice while his/her bone marrow is now busy in producing white blood cells.
Your unborn baby’s development is also seen through the startle reflex, or also called the Moro reflex. That means he/she is able to hear sounds and nicely react to them by moving his/her arms and legs. This is an ideal time to guide your little one to your favorite music!
He/she is also moving all the time, such as twisting and turning, kicking and stretching. However, since it is still small and your uterus is just at the top of your pelvis, it is unable to feel his/her moving. Once he/she gets bigger and begins pressing against your uterine wall, then you’ll be able to feel your kid’s movements clearly. This week is when you can be asked to do ultrasound. Feel happy to hear your baby’s heart beat for the first time, right?
What should you do?
You are now gaining weight due to the pregnancy at 12 weeks pregnant. Therefore, it is better to pay much attention to your diet so as to make sure that you do not gain too much. Obviously, this may lead to complications, like high blood pressure, gestational diabetes, and pain in your legs and back. Plus, carrying a lot of extra weight may also lead to much fatigue.
If you have not followed a balanced diet every day, it is time to end your first trimester on a healthy note. Select a diet rich in lean proteins, fruits and vegetables, and complex carbohydrates. Stay away from junk food. Rather, eat snacks which contain calcium, protein, and minerals (i.e. yogurt and dried fruit)
Moreover, your skin also becomes more sensitive this week. The best way to reduce the effects of the mask of pregnancy is to use sunscreen with SPF 15 whenever in outside. Wearing a baseball cap or hat is also a good way to keep the sun off of your face if you go for a long period of time.
This week may be perfect to start practicing Kegel exercises. These help to strengthen your vaginal muscles, as well as help with delivery and recovery after the birth. Unsure about how to do Kegel exercises? Then, let your healthcare provider know that. In some cases, a birthing class is also an excellent place to do these exercises.
